Publication Ethics

Ethical Principles
The Journal of Economics Management is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal fully adheres to the ethical principles and best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher must comply with these ethical standards to ensure the credibility and reliability of the scholarly record.

Duties of Authors
Authors are required to maintain honesty, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of their research and manuscript preparation. Specifically, authors must:

  • Submit only original works that are free from plagiarism, with proper citation of all referenced materials.

  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of all data and results, avoiding fabrication, falsification, or misleading reporting.

  • Avoid multiple or simultaneous submissions of the same manuscript to other journals.

  • Include only those individuals as authors who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their work.

  • Take appropriate action to correct or retract the manuscript if a significant error or ethical issue is discovered after publication.

Duties of Editors
Editors play a crucial role in maintaining academic quality and ethical integrity. Editors must:

  • Make editorial decisions based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Ensure that all submitted manuscripts are treated with strict confidentiality and used only for the purpose of editorial assessment.

  • Avoid any conflict of interest when handling submissions and recuse themselves when such conflicts arise.

  • Take responsibility for publication decisions and conduct thorough investigations into any suspected cases of misconduct or ethical breaches.

Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers are essential in ensuring the quality and credibility of the peer review process. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and not use the information for personal advantage.

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews, supporting the improvement of the manuscript.

  • Identify and inform editors of relevant prior work that has not been cited by the authors.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts if impartiality cannot be guaranteed.

Publisher’s Responsibilities
The publisher of the Journal of Economics Management works closely with the editorial board to maintain ethical publishing practices. The publisher must:

  • Ensure that the journal’s operations strictly adhere to recognized ethical and publishing standards.

  • Take appropriate measures to prevent, identify, and address publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data manipulation, and unethical authorship.

  • Collaborate transparently with the editorial board, COPE, and relevant organizations in investigating and resolving any ethical concerns that may arise.
