PERAN PENGUNGKAPAN ESG DAN UKURAN PERUSAHAAN DALAM MENDORONG PROFITABILITAS SEKTOR ENERGI

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing attention to corporate
sustainability practices and the importance of financial performance in the energy
sector. The objective of this study is to examine the effect of Environmental, Social,
and Governance (ESG) disclosure and firm size on the profitability of energy sector
companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study employs a
quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The data used are
secondary data obtained from annual reports and sustainability reports for the period
2022–2024. Data collection was conducted through documentation, with a sample of
16 companies selected using purposive sampling. Panel data regression analysis was
performed using EViews 12 software. The results indicate that ESG disclosure and firm
size have a significant effect on the profitability of energy sector companies. The
conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of ESG implementation in
enhancing corporate financial performance. Future research is recommended to
extend the observation period, increase the sample size, and combine quantitative
approaches with qualitative methods to obtain more comprehensive results.
