Publication Ethics

1. Duties of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Ensure manuscripts are original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.

  • Data Accuracy and Integrity: Present research data honestly; fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting is prohibited.

  • Multiple or Redundant Submission: Manuscripts must not be submitted to or published in more than one journal simultaneously.

  • Authorship and Acknowledgment: Only individuals with substantial academic contributions should be listed as authors; all other contributors and funding sources must be acknowledged.

  • Conflicts of Interest and Corrections: Disclose potential conflicts of interest; promptly report errors for correction or retraction if necessary.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Fair Evaluation: Assess manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to Islamic studies.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and authors’ identities.

  • Conflict of Interest: Avoid decisions influenced by personal or professional conflicts.

  • Publication Decisions: Base decisions on journal policies, peer review results, and ethical standards.

  • Ethical Oversight: Address ethical concerns and issue corrections or retractions when misconduct is detected.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Treat all manuscripts as confidential; do not share without permission.

  • Objectivity: Provide clear, evidence-based, and constructive feedback.

  • Timeliness: Complete reviews promptly and notify editors if unable to meet deadlines.

  • Conflict of Interest: Declare any conflicts that may affect judgment.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Identify uncited relevant work and inform the editor.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Ethical Compliance: Ensure publication processes adhere to ethical standards and COPE guidelines.

  • Transparency and Accountability: Collaborate with editors to handle ethical issues fairly and transparently.

  • Integrity of the Record: Maintain the integrity of the academic record and support corrections or retractions as necessary.
