Pelatihan Simulasi Internet Of Things (IoT) Untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Digital Siswa Smk Negeri 5 Semarang

SMK Negeri 5 Semarang had study programs in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) and Software Engineering (RPL) that required updates in the latest technology competencies. The lack of understanding regarding Internet of Things (IoT) became a challenge in facing the Industry 4.0 era. Methods: This activity was conducted through three stages: (1) Pre-training (needs assessment and module preparation), (2) Intensive training (theory, hands-on workshops, and project-based learning), and (3) Continuous evaluation and monitoring. The participants consisted of 30 students from grade XI TKJ and RPL. Results: Students demonstrated an improvement in IoT understanding of 78% (pre-test 45, post-test 80). Five functional IoT project prototypes were developed (smart home, smart agriculture, temperature monitoring). 85% of participants expressed readiness to pursue student competency tests and international certification. Conclusion: The IoT training effectively improved the technical competencies of SMK students and was relevant to industry needs. It was recommended that it be integrated into the curriculum and conducted annually on a sustainable basis.
