This community service-based study addresses the low level of financial literacy and future-oriented planning among orphanage children, which may hinder their financial independence in adulthood. The program aims to examine the effectiveness of an integrated financial literacy and character education approach supported by a structured saving movement in fostering a planning mindset. The activity involved 25 children aged 5–15 years at Yayasan Sayap Ibu Orphanage, Jakarta, using a participatory learning method. Data were collected through pre- and post-activity questionnaires, observations, and brief interviews, and analyzed descriptively. The results show improved understanding of basic financial concepts, increased awareness of saving, and clearer formulation of short- and medium-term goals. The study concludes that integrating financial literacy with future-oriented character education effectively strengthens discipline, responsibility, and planning skills among orphanage children. Sustainable implementation and broader stakeholder involvement are recommended to enhance long-term impact.
